What is a General Plan?
A General Plan is the local government’s “blueprint” for development. It is a community guided vision for the future of South Jordan and will serve as a guiding document for growth and development.
A successful General Plan takes involvement from the whole community. This is your future and your plan, so get involved! Start thinking, sharing, and spreading the word to friends and neighbors.
Why does the General Plan matter?
The General Plan is designed to be used by anyone interested in the future of South Jordan:
• Staff and elected officials will use the Plan to better understand how decisions may affect services, infrastructure, and general quality of life.
• Residents, business owners, and property owners may be interested in land use recommendations, protection of private property rights, and natural resources.
