How did we do?

Did we hear you right? These vision statements were crafted from public outreach, we want to make sure the visions reflect the community's desires for the future of South Jordan. Let us know what you think!

When we moved here 10 years ago, I liked the feel of South Jordan with larger family home lots and green space. I'm worried we're losing green space around the city (especially along the Jordan River where there is a lot of wildlife and where there is bound to be flooding). If you talk to any of the sports clubs, you will hear that there is a high demand for field space. Can we create more parks or leave room for them in the future? One thing I was disappointed in when we moved to South Jordan is that we have blocked off developments (walls surrounding developments). In other places we lived (Iowa and Michigan), neighborhoods had sidewalks connecting them with easements. It was easier to feel like a community when you can walk freely and kids could play with someone in the next neighborhood without walking around to a busy street to get there. I know it could cut into property taxes since this would be city property, but it greatly enhances the quality of neighborhood life. I've given this feedback several times over the last few years. Thank you for your consideration!

I think it's close but if the majority of the citizens, myself included, stated that we had too many multi family housing units then perhaps instead of ignoring us, perhaps you should realize that part of the charm of South Jordan has always been the idea of larger single family housing lots. Use that information and make it work for the city. We don't need to do things like everyone else. Make it unique.
